A Chinese Longquan carved celadon flower vase, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), of baluster form, with carved decoration of scrolling lotus to the sides, covered in a fine, even sea-green glaze. Base unglazed. Together with a very old Japanese wooden box. 16 cm high, 8 cm diameter. Provenance: old Japanese collection.
