A Chinese limestone inscribed two-part epitaph, Tang Dynasty, Wu Zetian period (690-705), the two parts carved as square plaques, one with chamfered edges, both with lengthy inscriptions describing the life of a government official's wife. A Chinese zitan foliate-section brush pot together with a bowl, 20th century, the brush pot finely carved in barbed-foliate section, the wood of rich deep brownish-purple colour. Together with a squat bowl of zitan with inwardly turned mouth. The brush pot 12.5 cm high, 11.5 cm diameter. The bowl 3 cm high, 15.5 cm diameter.

A pair of Chinese huanghuali spindle-back 'Meigui-Yi' chairs, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), circa 17TH/18th century, of gently tapered form, with spindle inset arms and backs, the arch-shaped aprons with fine beading along the edge, and with square-section legs. The seats have been later modified to remove the previous woven cane seats and replaced with hardwood panels. 90.5 cm high, 54 cm wide, 45 cm deep. Provenance: purchased by the vendor in Hong Kong in the 1990s.
