A superb pair of embroidered and silk handkerchiefs, both with colourful embroidered 'Happy Christmas' messages surrounded by holly and blooms; both then with added text in ink '6th Australian field ambulance Xmas dinner 1917' with the signatures of numerous (if not all) the members of the Company who were present for the celebration. We have not attempted to count the signatures but note that both handkerchiefs carry different names. Remarkable survivors of life on the front lines in France. (2
