A Thai Sukhothai style bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, probably late Ayutthaya period (1351-1767), 18th century, cast as a large seated Buddha in padmasana on a stepped-plinth base, with right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, covered in an even dark brown patina. Together with a fitted wooden base. The bronze 61 cm high, 32 cm wide. With wooden base 65 cm high, condition: loss to tip of the flame at the top of the head. Losses and wear to the plinth base.
