A Chinese Fencai/famille rose vase, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, decorated in famille rose enamels and gilding with shaped reserves containing birds and flowers, against a ground containing scattered flowers sprays and precious Buddhist emblems. Qianlong mark in underglaze iron-red to the base within a gilt ground. Old collection label affixed to the base. Together with an old carved wooden stand, and the original invoice dated 1955. The vase 28.5 cm high, 16 cm diameter. Together with stand, 31.5 cm high. Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's father from Connoiseurs' Store, Collins Street, Melbourne, 1955.
