A pair of marble inset hongmu sofas, early 20th century, each with a shaped openwork back centred with a circular marble plaque within a frame carved with birds and prunus, flanked by a pair of phoenix perched on rocks beside flowering peony trees, the rectangular recessed solid seat within a mitred frame, supported on cabriole legs joined by shaped stretchers, carved at the front with rope and foliate motifs, 119 cm high, 173 cm wide, 56 cm deep
