A clair-de-lune glazed Stick-Neck vase, Qianlong mark. Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Moulded with a cylindrical neck rising from a compressed ovoid body and a tall foot, the pale blue cobalt wash is applied to the exterior surfaces beneath a colourless glaze that covers the interior and the recessed base bearing the six-character mark in underglaze blue seal script. A Qingbai 'Chilong' cup. Possibly Southern Song-Yuan Dynasty. The cup features deep, rounded sides, adorned on each side with a pair of sculpted clambering chilong. The entire piece is coated in a delicate qingbai glaze, with the unglazed mouth rim intentionally left bare, exposing the white body beneath. Provenance: a private collection, Geelong, Australia.
