A composite 19th century mahogany wine table and reading easel, the easel manufactured by electroplate north of Birmingham - a plaque to the base of the easel stating that can be used with the body in any position, and the patent reading easel May be applied to any chair bed or sofa . In the example, the easel is applied, to a wine table, itself unusual in that it is mounted on an telescopic iron leg over an iron quatrefoil base. The current setting is 75 cm for the table, and 43 cm for the easel. (2)

Christopher Dresser design claret jug, c.1880's, attributed to Hukin and Heath London, the jug has a silver plated mount with ebonised wood, handle with tapered glass bowl and cut glass base.
