An Inuit serpentine carving, of a hunter in a kayak with seal bodies on the deck, with bone paddle, harpoon, gaff and leather thongs. Provenance: Gifted to a doctor practicing 1954-58 at an isolation hospital for TB at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Inuit patients resident for treatment periods of months used serpentine gathered within the grounds for carvings which were gifted to staff. Length 30 cm.
