Georgian Zograscope the zograscope, or 'Optical diagonal machine', was used mostly in the C18 and first half of the C19 for viewing prints. It has a large shallow convex lens. When the print is viewed through the lens, it seems to enhance the natural perspective of the image to give an almost three dimensional view. The more sophisticated models also incorporated a mirror. Rare Edwardian mahogany elevated bureau desk 'The Eclipse', London, Brand patent No. s 27871 and 7254. The envelope top open and mechanism raises a lift top writing slope and multi section compartment which elevates when writing slope is slid forward.
