Indonesian Batak bullet holders two superb 'Bullet holders' of the Batak, central Sumatra. These elongated containers with slightly flexible, 'Forked tongues' were used to store self-cast lead bullets for the early muzzleloader guns of the Batak, each bearing a face on the wide, upper front. The larger holder has a wooden lid, also carved with typical Batak relief. This 'Bullet holder' still has one lead bullet inside, with good patina. Indonesia. Length 18.5 cm. Width 5 cm.
