An impressive early 19th century four poster bed with East India Company Crest. The bed made in Bengal circa 1840 and was constructed for an officer of the British East India Company. Made from the finest sissoo wood (a member of the rosewood family) the bed was made to flat pack so it could be transported on the back of an elephant during trading and military exercises.
