A Napoleon III French gilt metal mantel clock signed Le Roy & Fils, a Paris, having an eight day bell striking movement with an enamel Roman numeral dial, the body of tapering form ornately decorated with an applied rose cresting and floral swags below a vase finial, raised on a flaring base with two Bacchanalian putti and scrolling acanthus leaf mounts, above a pierced apron, signed to the back plate Le Roy & Fils a Paris, no 5870, the dial further signed Palais Royal, Gie. Montpensier 1345 and 296 Regent Street London. Height 31.5 cm
