A Chinese Yumu, fine grained elm, corner leg table, the frame has contrasting wood with Ghost eyes & Mountains, Qing Dynasty, 18/19th century, a floating panel top in a wide frame, the rounded edge above a triple-reeded apron wrapped around the round corner legs, only the floating panel appears to be elm., notes: the technique of wrapping strips of bamboo around the circumference is the inspiration reflected in the moulded edges., Literature: See similar: Christies, New York, the Gangolf Geis collection of fine classical Chinese furniture,18 Sept 2003 + Chinese furniture: Selected Articles from Orientations,1984-1999 H K, 1999 p.59 fig. 6., condition: possibly over restored in 1990s.
