A Victorian mahogany pedestal sideboard, the leaf carved mirror back above a shaped rectangular top, each pedestal having a carved panelled door centred by a frieze drawer, the whole with carved fruit, leaf and swag decoration, plinth base, brass castors, 200 x 183 x 66 cm. Provenance: Letters accompanying the sideboard suggest that it was possibly originally owned by William Charles Wentworth during the period in which he resided at Vaucluse house, Vaucluse, New South Wales, the letters indicate that the sideboard was brought to Tasmania after being purchased by Captain Robert Williams at an auction of furniture and effects belonging to Wentworth, the sideboard is said to have been acquired by the current owner's grandfather, A. W Courtney Pratt, of Hobart, in 1912 and it has been owned by his descendants since that
