A group of 13 Chinese famille rose armorial vessels, 18th century, including eleven plates and two bowls, decorated in iron red and gold with minor black relief, outer border with elaborate brocade, central feature of each piece is a coat of arms and a crest of a bird with open wingspan, the arms are of Davidson of Swarland House, Felton, Northumberland and the Cars of Cocken, the crest 'out of a naval coronet, a dove rising argent with an ear of corn in its mouth', stylized Chinese objects, flowers, vases and tendrils add relief decoration, ordered by Swarland House in 1724., 22.4 cm diameter (plates), Publication, David Sanctuary Howard, 'Armorial Porcelain', p.206.
