World War I 1914-1915 Star, issued to '4/432 L/Cpt. F. J. Preston N.Z.E.F.' Frederick John Preston, a grocer of Nelson St, Auckland sailed with the Main Body in 1914 and served in Gallipoli with No.1 Field Troop, N.Z. Field Engineers. He suffered a bayonet wound on 10th August at Chunuk Bair and was invalided back to England. He returned to duty in 1916 and served through the Armentieres and Somme campaigns. He was killed in action 7th June 1917 at Messines. Medal is impressed and complete with ribbon, service records and copy photographs.
