Exceptionally rare William & Mary sterling silver bullet teapot of small proportions, the hinged lid engraved with 4 demi-lune fans, bright cut diaper and scroll decoration to the shoulders, the flattened straight spout with 3 initials, on circular foot, London, 1694, maker HC, three pellets, mullet and two annulets. Few 17th century teapots exist, most are not found before 1710, the small size of these early pots reflected how expensive tea was as a commodity until the middle of the reign of George I
