Two Russian icon on panels, St Nicholas and St John the Baptist, 19th century, depicting old St Nicholas with white hair, gilded on red ground, dressed as a bishop holding the book of the Gospels and a blessing gestural with the fingers spelling Ic Xc (Jesus Christ), his head flanked by subsidiary figures of Christ and Mary, with Cyrillic inscriptions, 37 x 32 cm, St John the Baptist is depicted wearing animal skin and robe, with unkempt beard, long hair and outstretched wings, 22 x 16.5 cm
