Presentation Album of Photographs of Sydney, 1895, Half maroon morocco, folio in presentation binding, with gilt embossed coat of arms and inscribed on the front cover 'Presented to Prof. J. A. Liebmann, Diocesan College Rondebosch South Africa. By the Government of the Colony of New South Wales 1895', 35 photographs each with title inscribed in the plate at lower right hand corner., The photographs are not signed, but are by a photographer working for the New South Wales Government Printer, who would also have been responsible for the binding. Images 36 x 27 cm, The quality of the photographs is superb, particularly evident in the detail of the street scenes and buildings. Many of the buildings represented had only been erected a few years before 1895, and the intention of this album was to provide a record of Sydney's prosperity and progress.
