An opposite pair of Satsuma vases. Taisho to Showa period, first half 20th century. The baluster vases with carinate shaped collars, embellished throughout in high relief with deity figures, including one riding an elephant, in moriage enamels and gilt, with made in Japan stamp underside with shimazu family crest mark to centre. Height 32 cm
