In tempera colours and gilt upon a gesso prepared timber panel depicting the seated Christ holding the Gospel of Matthew in his left hand and accompanied by two saintly figures, Cyrillic script in church Slavonic for 'Jesus Christ', 'Lord Almighty' upon the gilded ground, and letters to the Crown symbolising, 'The one who is'.
