World War II German Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge A nice example of a Luftwaffe Ground Combat Badge being of zinc one-piece construction. This has been either removed or not applied, which was standard with the war restrictions on good quality metal being applied. The award other than that, has toned over the years to a reasonable grey colour, still giving contrast to the clouds. Becoming harder to find, these badges were awarded to the Luftwaffe who were engaged in ground combat duties like their army counterparts
