A gold 1939 Taranaki cup on oak stand, the baluster bowl inscribed 'T.J.C / Taranaki cup / 1939 / Won by / Mr. A. Rowan's / 'Cheval de Volee' / 9st / 2m. 213/ss.', flanked by two angular handles, stamped 9ct to base, seated on a stepped oak pedestal stand, approximately 144 gms, 14 cm total height. Provenance: Mr. A. Rowans was the vendors great grandfather, Mr. Rowan's daughter was a horse trainer and the trophy was bequeathed to her and hence by decent to the current owner
