Two pairs Abelam hair ornaments, [2], these are very old and tightly woven hair decorations that were worn in male dancer's hair for yam ceremonies. Collected in the Maprik area in the early 1970's. Provenance: Collected by the well known New Guinea field collector Barry Hoare in the 1970s / Todd Barlin collection. 35 cm to 47 cm
