Five old Asmat bone Daggers, West Papua, [5], These bone Daggers were used in the initiation of the young men during the Emak Cem Ceremony in Jamas. These daggers were given by the maternal uncles of the initiates during the 2 month seclusion period of the ceremony. They were gifted to me by the old men after the ceremony as I had helped with many things in the village during and after the ceremony.' Todd Barlin. See attached field photos of this ceremony.
