A Victorian sterling silver mounted claret jug, 1872 London, with maker's marks for E. C. Brown, the tapering jug with a compressed base, wheel engraved to the body with ribbons and floral swags, the design repeated in prick work and bright cut form to the collar and coolie hat dome lid, having a squared bracket handle ornately cast and chased with Gothic styled decoration; hallmarked to the collar and lid. Height 27.5 cm.
