A French japonisme ebonised cabinet, circa 1890, having a pierced gallery to the back, two doors with finely incised doors inset with lacquered burr elm panels depicting storks amongst rushes, opening to reveal a scarlet lacquered interior, over a full width lacquered drawer, supported on four masks surmounted scrolling legs terminating in paw feet, joined by a stretcher shelf, 131 cm high, 71 cm wide, 50.5 cm deep
