A colonial cedar sideboard, attributed to Rocke of Melbourne, circa 1898, in the Sheraton taste, the splash back hand embroidered to a William Morris kit, supported on turned brass rods, having two central drawers, flanked to either side by a door with imitation drawer fronts, supported on tapering square form legs terminating in spade feet, 127 cm high, 198 cm wide, 70.5 cm deep. Provenance: Frank Rymill, Adelaide, acquired in circa 1898, The Estate of the Late Eleanor Rymill, Adelaide, by descent from the above, Frank Rymill was a client of William Morris as were a number of other prominent Adelaide families at the time. A number of kits for embroidery were purchased along with other accessories, one of which was used to create the splash back for this sideboard, by one of the daughters of Frank Rymill
