ARCHIE PORTER (1888-1950): Vintage custom built game fishing rod, split cane with fine braided leather hand grip, circa 1930s. Porter was a renown whip maker as well as rod maker from Marrickville Sydney in New South Wales. Examples of his work can be found in the English Royal collection, and is known to have made similar fishing rods for notables such as Somerset Maugham. 211 cm
