A Georgian pair of miniatures, Alexander Elphinston, and his wife, Charlotte, he with a moustache, white frilled shirt and black coat, the reverse inscribed 'Alexander Elphinston HEicp, Born April 1801. Married Charlotte Hunter in 1831. Died Nov. 1889 of Chewton Glen Christchurch Harts', her with her hair in a ribbon tied bun, white dress with cameo pinned at corsage, the reverse inscribed 'Charlotte Hunter daughter of Doctor & Mrs Charlotte Hunter born Sept. 1806. married 1831, died January 1859, rectangular on ivory, gilt mounts
