A fine old Chinese porcelain lantern, of swollen hexagonal shape with reticulated walls set with circular panels each painted in underglaze blue with landscapes, figures and flowers, the background decorated with a profusion of flowers. Raised on a conforming hexagonal short column base. Provenance: The Alfred Buckland Estate, an early Auckland notable family, owner of Highwic, by descent to family, once resident in Patey Street, now the childcare centre. Height 30 cm
