A large, mid-18th century blown milk-glass apothecary bottle, cylindrical with spreading foot and small flaring mouth set with disc stopper, with painted polychrome cartouche. Inscribed with black alchemical symbol and lettering : 'Aqua: CORT: ORANT:' (Aqua Corticum Aurantii [distillation of orange peel]). Both stopper and bottle shoulder etched 'VIII'. Height 19 cm
