Florence Broadhurst [1899-1977]: The complex, eccentric and talented woman who was Florence Broadhurst was born in rural Queensland, Australia in 1899. At her passing in 1977, she was accomplished in so many fields of art it was almost impossible to believe one person achieved so much. Her major and final contribution to the world of art was hand painted wallpaper. As unusual as her life had been, it seemed only fitting that her death was equally strange. She was murdered in her Paddington studio in Roylston Street, in 1977. Her murder remains unsolved. There has been a great deal of speculation that she was a victim of serial killer John Wayne Glover
