An impressive large and important Doulton Burslem vase painted by George White (act. 1895-1912), of spherical shape with short trumpet neck, the body hand painted with an encircling landscape decorated with classical figures including a tambourine playing 'Maiden' and a pipe playing 'Youth' accompanied by attendants in an idealised Grecian landscape, a border of swags and stiff leaves decorates the shoulder and lappet panels in similar olive tones encircle the foot. Printed, painted and impressed factory marks under the base, signed by the artist on the body. Diameter 26.5 cm, height 27.5 cm
