A pair of Chinese carved malachite box and covers, carved in relief, with detachable covers, depicting a pair of quails, shuang an known to symbolize 'Peace and prosperity', with fitted carved wooden stands, 6.4 cm high including stand. Reference: for a very similar pair (though without stands), please refer to Skinner Auctions, Marlborough, 26 June 2013, lot 294.
