An opal and diamond ring with loose stones, 18ct yellow and white gold, circa 1950's, designed as a large cocktail dress ring, centrally set with an oval solid white opal with intense spectral colours of green, orange, red, aqua and violet, measuring 19.4 x 16.8 mm, claw set in a raised mount, flanked by two smaller claw set brilliant cut diamonds in white gold, finished on a gold band.
