A Victorian sterling silver and gilt ewer, the 'Squatter's cup', 1861 London, with maker's marks for Stephen Smith and William Nicholson, the tall ewer with an applied neoclassical border of vines, cornucopia, masks and animals, the lid with a coiled snake finial, bearing an 1863 inscription to the winner of the Terrick Terrick Plains Tang Tang Steeplechase; hallmarked to neck. Total weight 1143gr. Height 35.5 cm
