An early/mid 20th century Maori carved trinket box, the lid with extra high relief carved stylised head and figure forms, one with numerous teeth, both with inset eyes, the body with further stylised figures, each with paua inset eye, good dark stained finish, notch and whorl detail to the rim. 19.5 cm x 12.5 cm x 8.5 cm
