A Chinese archaistic jade disc of biform, slightly irregular circular form and piecing, the front and reverse with fine wrythen fluting, the celadon toned jade with black and russet highlights at intervals to the rim indicating weathered rind and suggesting manufacture from a jade pebble. A previous owner sought the opinion of Robert H. Ellsworth, the renowned New York specialist Oriental Art dealer, who inspected the disc and attributed an age of neolithic or Han dynasty to this piece. Diameter 8 cm
