A fine Fijian Totokai Club, 19th century. Provenance: Collected by Dr William Bromilow, Methodist missionary in Fiji (1879-1889), & then by direct family descent. Bromilow penned an account of his missionary life 'Twenty Years Among Primitive Papuans' published by The Epworth Press [London]. 86 cm. Also includes a Trobriand Islands Kava bowl, most likely 20th century.
