A Canton lacquer and painted fan, with papier mache box, circa mid 19th century. the leaf is hand painted on handmade paper; each of the 130 figures having a face of applied ivory, and robes of silk. the guards and blades are gilt and lacquered, with papier mache lacquered box decorated with architectural and landscape figurative scenes Provenance: Private Collection Perth; Exhibited at the West Australian Art gallery 'An Age of Elegance, A.
