An old Maori carved whalebone carver’s mallet, the tapered rectangular section head on a tapered shaft, a stylised head to the butt end, cylindrical drilled suspension hole for lashing, of good heavy weight, some areas showing old weathering, dark highlight areas. Length 27.5 cm being assessed for registration.
