A Wedgwood black basalt and Rosso Antico sugar bowl, early 19th century. Finely decorated, the covered bowl of compressed oval form with looping handles and having moulded decoration in the classical manner with crisp rosso antico figural scenes to the body and a delicate lappet border to the rim, the domed lid with conforming decoration; incised mark of Wedgwood and the letter D underside.
