Two fine and large Marind Anim Drums, with original field collection labels; left: Slo village, upper Bian River, Marind Anim, made by Gabriel Kaise who died in the 1960's, right: Kumbe village, Kumbe River Marind Anim, the owner of this drum was Alfius Mahuse. 'I made many trips to the Marind Anim between 1985-1999 both to visit friends and make collections for major museums including a full Dema Ceremony now held at the Musee du Quai Branly in Paris and another at the Linden Museum in Stuttgart' - Todd Barlin *see attached field photos.
