A ritual baton, Malaita Island, Solomon Islands, the wood baton with fine inlay shell work is almost in perfect condition, the neck has a band of small braided sennit fibre. These were called 'Fou atoleleo' in Kwaio Language, they were worn hanging from the back of the neck by a man who had killed another person for a reward. Provenance: B. L.
