An opposite pair of Satsuma vases, Meiji period, late 19th to 20th century, the baluster vases each with figural panels of a mother and children in an iris garden with crested cranes flying overhead, and to the reverse, figures in a pavilion and landscape setting, in colours with moriage enamel highlights and upon a deep blue ground with gilded floral and crest embellishments; unmarked.
