A signed Satsuma cricket cage, probably Showa period, mid 20th century, mark of Satsuma with shimazu family crest, fashioned as a circular reticulated cage with a conforming cover and cricket finial wrapped in a hammock of fabric decorated with a thousand flower design, tied to the top with a bow, profusely gilded throughout; marked to a bordered cartouche underside. Height 14.5 cm
