A fine Yaozhou celadon ' peony' carved bowl, Northern song Dynasty, conical form crackle glaze bowl with finely incise floral motif conforming to the style of the time. Yaozhou is typically a Northern song 'Greenware'. Established in the Tang Dynasty and prospering in the Northern song Dynasty, the Yaozhou Kiln was one of the most well-known 'Celadon' kilns in China Provenance: K.R Bernard-Smith collection, Shapiro Auctioneers, 21 September 2004, Lot 190.
