A fine Meiji period shibayama display cabinet composed of five staggered shelves (three with gilt patterned edges) above and below four cupboards and three small drawers, enclosed by sliding and 'Hinged' doors inlaid with ivory, bone and mother-of-pearl flowers and birds in natural habitats on gilt-lacquer, supported on scrolled legs joined by broad stretchers, pierced and carved with flowers and a three-toed dragon, the cabinet frame decoratively carved with dragons, bats and flowers, and panels of diaper designs, the cabinet surmounted by a wood carved dragon.
